Ben and Bella are off on another adventure and, of course, all the animals want to join them! The destination this time is Australia, and the digger digs and judders, as Moose, Zebra, Rhinoceros, Mole and lots of other animals all clamber on. Even Little Roo jumps up, and gets delivered safely back to his mummy. Everyone stops for a barbie, a dance with the digeridoo, and then its time to head for home again. Join the fun on an advernture that gets better and better!

This is a great book!

My daughters have family over in Aussie so we love any books that take us over there and teach us about the country. This book has a fun way of doing that AND includes a dinosaur ? WIN. Big Yellow Digger is a great book to read to your kids too, I found it fun and it has a good rhythm. Last thing you want is to fall asleep before your kid reading the book at bedtime! This is one of Zoe?s favourite?s and is requested most nights now.

A Bed of Your Own

Mij Kelly
Available 14 August 2012 RRP $17.99

Fishpond / Amazon

A wonderful entertaining bedtime story.

Suzy Sue and her animal friends star in this fabulous bedtime book that will have children giggling all the way to bed. This is the story of Suzy Sue, ready for bed just like you! but then she finds a cow, a horse, a sheep and a goat all fighting for space in her bed. Will she ever get to sleep?

I loved this book from the moment I saw the gorgeous illustrations. It?s a great story and fun to read. I always find stories that are about going to bed really good at night at bedtime as it gets the kids into that mind set of falling asleep like the characters in the book? at least that?s what I hope when I read it. You?ll love it too!

I Love My Daddy

By Giles Andreae and Emma DOdd
Available 1 August 2012 $17.99

Fishpond / Amazon

?I love my daddy, yes I do, He?s very kind ? and funny, too.?

An amusing, touching and heart-warming look at the special relationship between father and child from the bestselling Giles Andreae, perfectly acompanied by Emma Dodd?s charming and vibrant artwork. This book is the follow up to the award-winning I Love My Mummy.

This is a fantastic book. We loved that the child in the books isn?t clear as a girl or boy so any child could relate. I Love My Daddy has so many things in it that my girls can relate to about their own dad. Daddy being funny, daddy having big shoes, daddy giving horse back rides, daddy letting them watch TV and have treats? It is a big hit in our house and a pleasure to read as a mother with my daughters as we come together to think about Daddy and dwell on the cool stuff he does as a father. Would make a really good gift.

The Jungle run

By Tony Mitton and Guy Parker-Rees
Available July 2012 RRP $19.99

Fishpond / Amazon

Here comes the animals, one by one.
They?re all getting ready for the jungle run.
Cub turns up to take her place,
But the others say, you?re too small to race!

Cub may be little compared to the other animals, but she?s quick and clever and she knows just how to show the rest of the jungle what a winner she is.

We have had lots of fun with this book, I really enjoyed reading it to the kids. It?s fun to rhyme and this book is written like a song, it all just flows well and sounds great with lots of enthusiasm and voices for the characters and action. And there?s lots of action! Guy Parker-Rees? illustrations are bright, colourful and the map at the start of the book is fun to go through too. The Jungle Run is often requested at bed time in our house and I have no problem reading this action packed adventure over and over.

My Granny is a Pirate

By Val McDermid and Arthur Robins
Available June 2012 RRP $19.99 on

Fishpond? /? Amazon

Hugely successful, internationally bestselling and multi award winning author Val McDermid writes her first picture book for children.

My granny is a pirate!
She?s sailed the seven seas.
She captured many pirate ships
But was always home for tea.

When a family secret about granny is revealed, we discover all about her fearsome pirate reputation and her swashbuckling ways ? from making other roguish pirates walk the plank to singing sea shanties to her dog, jolly roger. Look again at your granny? Could she be a pirate too? A must have book for all pirate fans.

This book has been heaps of fun in our house. It helps if your child has a grandparent named granny in the family as Zoe does. The book is quite long and perfect for a bed time story if you?re only planning to read one book, not 5 billion like most nights. It?s fun, fast paced and Zoe loved it. It is however probably a bit old for a 2.5 year old as I?m sure older preschoolers and primary school aged kids would benefit more from this fun tale.

The illustrations are fantastic, very busy, bright, detailed and fun. I personally love that granny has red hair and beats up the baddies with her handbag, Go Granny!
